About Us

Motor City Wheels is a show concept that digs into the soul of automobiles and the people who cherish them. It’s not about restorations, it’s not about flipping cars, it’s not about what a car can bring at auction, and it’s certainly not about fake drama, it’s about the story behind that wheel.

Our Host

Hi I'm Randy Bhirdo. I grew up in Saginaw county and left in 1984 and spent a year in Lansing. I've been in the Detroit area since 1985. My wife Sheila and I have been married since 1989. Broadcasting has been my career for over 43 years now, including work as a traffic reporter for Metro Networks reporting live in-studio and aircraft traffic reports for WWJ and WJR radio as well as WDIV-TV and WJBK-TV. I've also been the weather anchor at WKBD-TV, WXYZ-TV, WEYI-TV in Flint, and WILX-TV in Lansing. I was assistant program director and music director at WDTW-FM in Detroit and most recently as an engineering technician and photographer at WWJ-TV. I attended Delta College in Bay City, Michigan, where I studied Broadcasting and Advertising. I was a traffic reporter on WWJ-TV's First Forecast Mornings until December 28 2012. I currently work for Total Traffic and Weather Network where I'm a traffic anchor on WWJ News Radio 950, and Sirius XM traffic for Detroit and Tampa Florida.

ON TOP OF ALL THAT, I'M A CAR NUT.
